Texas Photographic Society's TNS 17 Catalog

TPS 17: The National Competition Show opens in Longview at Tammy Cromer-Campbells' Gallery on February 5, 2009 at 5 pm. The show continues until April 24. The gallery is open from 11am - 6pm, Monday - Friday and by appointment by calling 903.236.4686.

Lisa Sutcliffe, associate curator at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, juried the exhibit. Ms. Sutcliffe selected 56 images for the Show. A total of 267 artists submitted 1,872 images for jurying. Entries came from 36 states.

hints of the alternative processes traveling exhibit in Odessa

In my search for information regarding Alternative Processes, 2008: A Traveling Exhibition, I came across the website of the photography department at Odessa College. They have a few images up by three of the artist as well as a link to the catalog in PDF form which reproduces 50 of the accepted images. No names appear (that I can) see in the catalog.

Walt Whitman Souvenir photos ala Polaroid Type 55

Some of the Polaroid souvenir photos I helped Ryan Kelly create for his MFA thesis exhibition are online at his website. Basically I was the camera operator and Polaroid technician for the instant souvenir photos recreating a well known image of Walt Whitman. I will dig up my copies of the negs (Oriental Warmtone paper) and post them here.

ImageOhio 9 (or is it Image Ohio?) at Fort Hayes


The opening of ImageOhio 9 will be Thursday January 15, 6-8m. In the event of heavy snowfall, Roy G Biv has scheduled a belated snow opening on Thursday, Jan 22, 6-8pm. The exhibition is located at the Shot Tower Gallery, Fort Hayes, 365 Jack Gibbs Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

In case you can't make it to the opening the exhibition will be on display from January 19th - February 27th, 2009.

Gallery hours are: Monday - Friday 9am-4pm but will be close on Martin Luther King day (January 19th).
