Shows Coming Down, Shows Going Up

The works on paper show at the Rosewood Art Center is ending. Bridgette Bogle's painting installation at DVAC is also closing on March 26th. At the risk of sounding like a promoter which I am, Dayton will not see an installation of Bridgette's work like this for a very long time. Go get immersed in the painting room while it is still up!

...and Bridgette's funny and a little inaccurate review in the Dayton City Paper. If I can track down the URL I will link to it. Corrections: Both Jeana Eve Klein and Bridgette got MFA degrees from their respective institutions (http://artslide.fa.asu.edu/mfaslide/klein/index_klein.htm) and Bridgette doesn't use her painting as a respite from teaching. She is a teaching artist...she has two jobs that she does well, maintaining a studio practice and immersing others in the media of painting and drawing.

Some exhibitions in the works for me. Marysville Public Library in December 2009 and Sinclair Community College, the Zone VI gallery, in January 2010.

Works on Paper at Rosewood Art Center again

The works on paper exhibition is up and running. The Dayton Daily News reviewed it and listed the award winners.

Go to http://www.daytondailynews.com/l/content/oh/story/entertainment/2009/03/06/ddn030609goRosewood_1.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=40 to read the review.

Both the University of Dayton and Sinclair had a strong showing. Erin Holzer Almazan and myself had work on the walls. For Sinclair, Pat McClelland and Bridgette Bogle won awards and the reviewer describe Pat's winning entry.

Also two of Bridgette's students are mentioned in the write-up as having work "worth viewing." They are Katelin Reeser and Joshua Shouse.
